Flash Lite For Windows Mobile
Microsoft has been busy trumpeting the virtues of Silverlight - its “Flash Killer” plug-in. But today the powers-that-be in Redmond announced the company had signed an agreement with Adobe to license its Flash Lite product for Windows Mobile.
This is interesting on a number of levels, namely:
1. This is a sign that Silverlight isn’t ready for prime-time on mobile devices
2. The news runs contrary to Steve Jobs’ widely reported disdain for Flash Lite at Apple’s annual shareholder meeting when he all but ruled out any kind of iPhone/Flash Lite integration.
This will be an interesting one to follow in the coming months…
