3, 2, 1, Ignition…..

Today marks the official launch of the World Archipelago blog and to celebrate the occasion we created a life-sized model of a Norwegian cruise liner out of old business cards, and attempted to smash a bottle of Chateau de Sunny Delight against the side of it.

We would have posted a picture but unfortunately the one person with a camera is stuck to the floor in artificially colored orange beverage quicksand thanks to our overzealous celebrations.

So now that we’re up and running what can you expect from this delicately decorated mint-green digital forum? Well firstly, this is going to be our platform to showcase some of the cool stuff that we’ve been working on. Over at WAI HQ the team has been feverishly working on some very interesting Flex-based products that tie-in perfectly to our data visualisation strategy. We’ll be revealing more about this in due course, but everyone here is VERY excited at what we have in the pipeline.

Aside from new product announcements, we’ll also be offering perspective and commentary on what’s happening within the interactive space. From the announcement of the new iPhone SDK to the first-take on the beta version of IE 8, we’ll be keeping tabs on new developments and - more importantly - what it means to our clients and partners.

The aim is for this blog to be the mouthpiece of different groups within World Archipelago. From Flash wizards all the way through to database developers, we hope to share our knowledge and passion of the digital world.

Until next time.

The World Archipelago Team
